We understand that planning an event can be a complex task, and choosing the right mobile bar service is a crucial element to ensure your celebration is a success. In this section, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most frequency asked questions about our mobile bar services. Frequently Asked Questions

• Do I need to apply for an alcohol licence?

No. When you book Near and Far Mobile Bar we take care of all confusing licensing applications on your behalf. We take the stress out of the process for you so you can focus on getting prepared for your event! We also include the licence application fee in our booking fee.

• Do you provide glassware?

Absolutely! We provide all the necessary glassware to serve the drinks from your selected menu for your event.

• Do you offer dry-hire?

All bars hosted by Near and Far Mobile Bar must exclusively have alcohol supplied by us unless you have chosen one our our inclusive packages. Please contact us for more information.

• Do you charge an hourly rate?

We do not impose additional fees for extended hours if we are providing the drinks for the full days service. We will manage the bar service starting at your chosen commencement time and continue until your event concludes. If we are not providing the full days drinks then bar hire is for 5 hours and additional hours are charged separately.

• How does payment of the bar tab work?

We have a couple of options available depending on your event, budget and requirements:

• Cash Bar

Guests pay as they go for their drinks via cash or card.

• Part Paid Bar

The Host chooses a desired amount to put “behind the bar” for drinks. We serve the guests up to that amount at no cost. Once the threshold has been reached, we will then revert to a pay bar where your guests can pay for their drinks by cash or card. We can also provide you with drinks tokens for your guests to redeem against their drinks.

• Open Bar

The Host pays for the full bar tab for the full duration of the event at the end of the hire.

• Inclusive Packages

The Host pays for the full day by choosing one of our fully inclusive drink packages.

• Do you offer beer on tap?

We have fully mobile draught beer systems available for all events. If you are particularly interested in having draught beer we always request this is stated at the point of booking.

• Can I choose what is served at my event?

Yes! We want you to have free reign to choose the best options for your guests from our extensive menu. You can choose from a selection of beers, ciders, wines, spirits, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks ensuring there is something to suit everyone!

• Do you have a minimum spend?

We have a minimum spend in place for all events and weddings. Minimum spends are worked out based on your date, location and number of guests. Ask us for a copy of our brochure for more information.

• Can I ask for bespoke drink options?

Absolutely! We work with many Clients who have specific wines, beers, spirits or cocktails they love that they may not have seen in our brochure. We are always happy to accommodate any bespoke requests ahead of your event!
